After extensive administrative hearings within the hospital, in which the surgeon and his attorney participated, the hospital's Board of Trustees revoked his clinical privileges. The surgeon contended that the hospital's actions were arbitrary, unreasonable, and unduly punitive, and he sought relief in the trial court based on several legal theories.
